Palm Pre not available on Sprint.com on June 6th

The Palm Pre will be out on June 6th but you won’t be able to order it from Sprint.com, you will only be able to get it from BestBuy, RadioShack, and Sprint stores. Sprint did say in their press release that the Palm Pre will be available to order online but not anymore. I talked to Pat L. from Sprint and he said:

You may purchase the phone on June 6 however, it will not be available on line. I do apologize for any inconvenience.

He even showed me the notice that Sprint left in the system:

Will the Palm Pre be available in FDT 6/6/09?
FDT being online sells. Not at this time. Direct the customer to the store locator on sprint.com or to local Sprint store and tell them to call ahead to check availability.

Just got this e-mail from Sprint. The Palm Pre will be here tomorrow! Notice how this ad says “They’ll go fast, so hurry to your local Sprint store”? Yesterday Sprint said to not worry about long lines, but this ad contradicts what they said. Remember, BestBuy and RadioShack will have instant rebates for the Palm Pre while Sprint will require mail-in rebates. The day we’ve all been waiting for is here! Sprint has finally announced the release date and pricing for the Palm Pre. I’ve done some research and made a short FAQ. Read on below for all the details!

When will the Palm Pre be available in the US?

The Palm Pre will be available nationwide on June 6th, 2009.

When will the Palm Pre be available in Canada?

Palm has not announced an official release date for Canada, but they have confirmed that the Palm Pre will be available to Canada through Bell in the second half of 2009.

When will the Palm Pre be available internationally?

No international release date has been announced yet.

Where can I get the Palm Pre?

You can buy the Palm Pre on June 6th at Sprint stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack, select Walmart stores, and online at Sprint.com.

What is the price of Palm Pre?

You can get the Palm Pre for $199 with a 2-year contract and a $100 mail-in-rebate. You will need to sign up for the Everything Data or Business Essentials with Messaging and Data plans.
